U.S. Census Bureau
National Partnership Specialist / Statistics Advocate
The importance of the Census Bureau to be here is that the Urban League is one our most ardent supporters in getting the message out to the African American community and to all communities of the importance of the Census. There are 400 billion dollars per year associated with the Census numbers and the American community survey. The Urban League assisted us in great detail and they went above board in making sure that the information got out in every crack and crevice of the U.S. We, the Census Bureau, appreciate the National Urban League doing that for us, and we are in support of their activities.

Shell Oil Company
General Manager of Fuels Operations Support North America
“I’ve had the opportunity here to be asked the question, ‘Why is it important for Shell to have a presence here at the National Urban League, especially something as momentous as this, being it the National Urban League’s 100th Anniversary?” Truly, from our perspective, Shell is the leading marketer of fuels in North America; we try to make sure that we’re providing the best product to our customers; many of whom are constituents of the National Urban League. It’s not only from the perspective of, ‘it’s the right thing to do – from a marketing agenda’, but in terms of all the great things the National Urban League does to create and support the Urban Agenda in America. We have supported them, just as they have supported us, and we’ve shared various initiatives over the past several years with the National Urban League – everything from their assistance in helping to get our brand information out about our new fuel programs, new credit card programs – the NUL has been there 100% in supporting us, and sharing our message with their constituents. It’s only right for us to be here – and to support them – in this being such a major event.”
