OLIVE TREE PUBLISHING EXPANDS ITS FOCUS TO COVER DISABILITY
ISSUES
RIVERSIDE, CA – (November 30, 2005)
Olive Tree Publishing has long been a champion of diversity
issues. Its trio of publications, Professional Woman’s
Magazine, Black EOE Journal and the Hispanic Network
Magazine target audiences previously underserved by
mainstream professional publications. Now, Olive Tree
is adding to its impressive repertoire by expanding
the editorial focus in each of its existing publications
to include timely articles and information aimed at
the disabled and physically challenged.
“This decision opens a whole new chapter for us
as a company,” said Mona Lisa Placey, vice president,
Olive Tree Publishing, Inc. “After extensive research
and client feedback, we determined we would expand our
editorial focus to include business and employment opportunities
for people with disabilities. Topics will target specific
groups including veterans, students, those with dyslexia,
the hearing impaired, and others. Our goal is to inform,
educate and promote opportunities for yet another segment
of the workforce that is not being adequately addressed
by many of the existing publications.”
As a company, Olive Tree Publishing is putting itself
into the limelight on the subject of disability issues,
with plans currently in place to make its presences
and its publications known at nearly one dozen disability
conferences in 2006, with even more planned for the
following year.
“This is an area where there is a lot of room
for growth and expansion,” added Faris. “We
plan to publish inspirational pieces on disabled business
owners, technology-focused articles for people with
all types of disabilities, with an emphasis on statistics
and trends that will keep our readers in the know. This
was a natural next step for us and one we’re extremely
excited about.”
About Olive Tree Publishing, Inc.
While similar in tone and style, Olive Tree Publishing’s
three professional magazines each have their own unique
emphasis. Professional Woman’s Magazine (PWM),
according to Faris, is the essential publication for
women seeking business and employment opportunities.
The other publications, Black EOE Journal and Hispanic
Network Magazine place a similar emphasis on business
and employment opportunities, while addressing issues
and topics of unique interest to minorities. Celebrating
over 15 years of service, Olive Tree Publishing, Inc.
continues to make new strides.
In early 2006, the publications launched a distribution
deal with Barnes and Noble Booksellers. In addition,
all of the publications can be found at colleges, universities,
private bookstores, newsstands and many women’s
diversity conferences. The publications are also featured
during 30 second commercial spots on national networks
such as CNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, PAX, Health Channel,
Fine Living, The Food Network, Fit TV, and the Travel
Channel. The commercials can be seen on syndicated TV
shows focusing on women and produced by Tricom Pictures
and Northbridge Productions. Annually, Olive Tree Publishing
is represented at over 50 diversity conferences nationwide.
